Our story

The Democratic Republic of Congo, like many other countries around the world, is facing numerous challenges, including organizational difficulties and tribal conflicts affecting different sectors of Congolese society.

With the aim of providing support and assistance, a group composed mainly of Christians decided to establish, in accordance with Law No. 004/2001 of July 20, 2001 relating to non-profit organizations (NGOs), a non-profit association called Hands of Love in Action Association, abbreviated as HLA ASBL.

This apolitical association was founded by born-again believers who received a calling from God to demonstrate love and the works of their faith by assisting orphans, widows, vulnerable people, and all those facing difficulties in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

The Bible declares:

“Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.”
(James 1:27)

“The Lord watches over foreigners and sustains the fatherless and the widow, but He frustrates the ways of the wicked.”
(Psalm 146:9)

For this reason, the concerned members decided to establish a social-oriented association named Hands of Love in Action Association (HLA ASBL).
